Fondé par Thomas Philips et Lola D'Harcourt, anciens professionnels de la mode, ce lieu capture l'esprit motard avec un design industriel vintage. Spécialisé dans les cafés de spécialité, ils proposent des sélections de torréfacteurs internationaux comme Sey, Coffee Collective et Rose Coffee Roasters. What were your first impressions when you arrived? Set up in an old travel agency, the industrial-sleek space is VERY compact (there's outdoor seating, too). And while it could be in London or New York (the design plays up brick walls, white tiles, a simple black bench and cinder block tables), regulars come for the expert coffee. What’s the crowd like? In-the-know coffee drinkers and maybe a smattering of locals and tourists passing by, intrigued. What should we be drinking? Excellent, expert coffees that are consistently good. Each espresso shot is perfectly pulled. Each flat white is impeccably served. The shop works with the best roasters in the world to offer a regularly changing selection of coffees and offers special (higher end, generally) pours for the most discerning. You'll also find cold brew, espresso tonics, and dirty chai. Main event: the food. Give us the lowdown—especially what not to miss. Indulgent! They make their own cakes and cookies (and an excellent Basque cheesecake) but work with Boneshaker for doughnuts (the city's best). And how did the front-of-house folks treat you? Young, cool, knowledgeable and happy to chat coffee. What’s the real-real on why we’re coming here?
